Vaccines are the most effective way to prevent infectious diseases. Dogs, cats and rabbits will need an annual vaccination. However, for dogs we can test the level of antibodies and if they are still protective, we can delay the next booster for parvovirus, distemper and hepatitis.
Puppies and kittens in their first year will need a vaccination course which consists of two injections. We advise not to delay vaccination courses as this will interfere with the socialisation period. The socialisation period is an important stage of life when kittens/puppies will learn and develop normal behaviours when interacting with others of their species and humans.
Preventative treatment of parasites such as fleas, worms and ticks is highly advised as sometimes symptoms like diarrhea, vomiting, itchy skin can be caused by this. Some parasites from pets can be transmitted to humans also.
